Location: SydneySalary Package: $150,000 - $170,000 + SuperRole Highlights: Skilled indemnity focusA rare chance to take ownership of a professional indemnity and liability claims portfolio.Role OverviewAs Claims Manager, you will manage a portfolio of professional indemnity, liability and financial lines claims from notification through to resolution, including policy interpretation and small to mid-value matters handled directly by you.ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of professional indemnity, liability and financial lines claims from notification through to resolutionInterpret policy wording to determine coverage positions on new and existing claimsHandle small to mid-value matters directly, negotiating and progressing settlementsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with brokers and insuredsLiaise with legal panel firms on claims strategy and coverage positionsSupport the transition of claims handling from an outsourced provider to an internal functionProvide technical input on complex coverage and liability questions as requiredCandidate ProfileProfessional indemnity experience is essential,



ideally alongside some exposure to liability, construction liability or financial lines matters.
Personal injury experience is a plus but not essential.
You don't need to be a practising lawyer, though a legal background is highly regarded, whether you're an associate or senior associate in private practice, someone who hasn't yet practised, or you've already moved into a claims role.
