You offer clarity where there is confusion, advocacy where thereispowerlessness and hope where people feel stuck.
Your work directly contributes to safer households, stronger financial capability and healthier futures for individuals,familiesand the wider community.About the roleYou will provide holistic, person-centred financial counselling and advocacy to people experiencing financial hardship, with a particular focus on thoseimpactedby problem gambling.
This includes assessing each person's unique circumstances, exploring the interaction between life issues and financial stress, and supporting clients to make informed, sustainable decisions.You will alsohave the opportunity todeliver group financial literacy and capability sessions, helping people build skills and confidence to manage their money over the long term.This is a permanent part-time position of 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE)



within theMoneycareWestern Australia Financial Counselling for Gambling team, based in Geraldton and reporting to theState Manager.Pay isin accordance witha SCHADS Level 5.How you will make an impactUndertake comprehensive assessments for intake, caseplanningand referralProvide client-centred financial counselling using contemporary practice and trauma-informed approachesAdvocate with creditors, financialinstitutionsand external agencies to achieve fair and realistic outcomesSupport clients to build financial capability,confidenceand long-term money management skillsDeliver community education sessions that promote financial literacy and early help-seekingMaintainhigh-qualitycase notes,dataand reporting in line withMoneycareand funding requirementsBuild strong relationships with local services, communityorganisationsand referral partnersOperate with autonomy while aligning with TSA andMoneycarepolicies,processesand practice frameworksWhat you will bringDiploma of Financial Counselling (or currently working towards completion)or Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling)Experience supporting people experiencing hardship,crisisor complex life challengesStrong ability to educate and empower people to build financial capabilityandconfidence to build informed decision-making sillsStrongnegotiation and advocacy skillsDemonstrated ability to work within a counselling framework and hold space for people in distressHigh levelinterpersonal,
