Job Description
As our HV Operations Lead, you will own the day-to-day safe operation andoperational oversight of all High Voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure across our data centre campus.
You will ensure the safe, reliable,



and compliant operation ofcritical power systems that keep our facilities running 24/7.
This is ahands-on, site-based role.
Safety, precision, and uptime are non-negotiable.
What you'll do:
Take technical ownership of all HV electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and distribution networksto ensure full compliance with electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and internal frameworks
Plan, coordinate, and execute high voltage switching operationsin accordance withapproved procedures and safety standards
Issue and manage HV permits and access authoritiesas HV Authorised Person, ensuring strict compliance with electrical safety requirements
Maintain and enforce HV operational procedures, including switching, isolation, emergency response, and safety protocols
Coordinate planned outages and isolations for maintenance, upgrades, and fault resolution
Act as the key interface with electricity utility providers for supply, outages, and infrastructure coordination
Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for HV systems
Lead fault investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions
Review and approve Method of Procedure (MOP), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), and Safe Work Instructions (SWI)
What you'll bring:
Proven experience performing HV switching operations and managing electrical isolations, including as HV Authorised Person or equivalent state-based authority
Deep knowledge of HV switchgear, transformers, protection systems,



and power distribution networks,BMS, SCADA, and power monitoring systems
Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations,permitsystems, and safe work practices
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and single line diagrams; experience working within protection-coordinated HV systems
Ability to diagnose complex electrical faults
Ability tooperateeffectively in a high-availability, safety-critical environment
Ability to manage relationships with contractors, OEMs, and utility providers
Qualifications
Recognised electrical trade qualification with significant HV experienceor Degree in Electrical Engineering.Trade-pathway candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
HV Authorised Person status (or equivalent state-based authority) -required
5–10+ years' experience in HV systems within data centres, utilities, power generation, or heavy industry
Strong understanding of power systems including generators, transformers, UPS, and protection systems
HV Switching Authorisation and relevant electrical safety certifications
Experience managing HV maintenance programs and system reliability
NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) desirable
