Analytical Chemist - Environmental LaboratoryEvolve Scientific – Newport VIC$75,000 - $80,000 a yearFull timeJoin a growing environmental testing laboratory supporting a broad range of environmental monitoring and analytical chemistry services.Seeking an experienced Analytical Chemistwith strong GC and LC instrumentation experience to support routine environmental testing and laboratory operations.Permanent full time opportunityMonday to Friday with standard working hoursDuties:Perform sample preparation and analysis of environmental samplesOperate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including GC, GC-MS, LC and LC-MS/MS systems.Process analytical data, perform calculations and review quality control results.Monitor analytical performance and investigate quality control issues where required.Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with quality management system requirements.Support method validation,



verification and implementation of new analytical techniques.Contribute to laboratory efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement activities.Collaborate with laboratory teams to achieve quality standards and turnaround time objectives.Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, ISO/IEC ***** requirements and regulatory standards.About You:Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline.Similar industrial analytical laboratory experience with solid hands-on GC, GC-MS, LC and/or LC-MS/MS experience is essential.Previous experience working within an environmental testing laboratory is highly regarded.Experience operating within an ISO/IEC ***** quality management system, ideally within a NATA-accredited laboratory.Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced laboratory environment.
