We're looking for an experienced Freight & Customer Service Administratior to join our operations team at a leading manufacturing facility in Melbourne's east.
This is a energetic, multi-functional role combining freight coordination, invoicing, and customer service support.You'll manage our freight logistics across multiple carriers and customer channels, ensure accurate and timely billing, and be the first point of contact for customer inquiries.
It's a role with genuine variety-no two days the same-and real responsibility in keeping our operations running smoothly with a focus on cost improvement and effeciency.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the fly, and taking ownership of critical business functions.Your Key ResponsibilitiesFreight & Logistics (60%)Book and coordinate freight shipments with multiple carriersTrack deliveries, manage schedules, and communicate with customersNegotiate rates and resolve carrier issuesMaintain freight records and identify cost-saving opportunitiesManage complex,



multi-SKU shipments and fragile product handlingInternational container exporting and importing.Invoicing & Billing (25%)Generate accurate customer invoices in our ERP systemProcess payments, reconciliation, and billing correctionsManage accounts and resolve billing discrepanciesMaintain clean, auditable recordsCustomer Service (15%)Answer customer calls and respond to inquiries professionallyHandle order status, delivery, and payment questionsResolve issues with empathy and urgencyEscalate complex matters appropriatelyAbout You3+ years' experience in freight, logistics, operations, or warehouse administrationProven competency with invoicing and billing processesExperience with ERP systems (SYSPRO, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent organisational and time-management skillsProfessional phone manner and customer service orientationProficiency in Excel and standard office softwareAbility to work independently and problem-solve under pressureBe careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
