Trainer and Assessor - Building and Construction Alana Kaye College
Alana Kaye College is a multi-award winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO) ******).
We cater to both domestic and international students, with state of the art campus' in Darwin, Northern Territory and Gold Coast, Queensland.
We are currently seeking a trainer and assessor to deliver quality training and assessment in Certificate IV in Building and Construction to a diverse cohort of students.
The position is based in our Gold Coast campus and is available as a contract position for one day per week with the possibility of growth.
Job Description:As a trainer and assessor, you will be responsible for delivering training and assessment, curriculum / course material development, assessment of student work, and reporting of results.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Develop and conduct training sessions for the above qualificationFacilitate and assess student's assessment for units of competencyParticipate and contribute to validation and moderation of learning resources and assessmentsIdentify and assess students that need additional learning support and provide feedback in a timely mannerStudent file managementMaintain, develop, and modify learning resources and assessment tools as requiredParticipate in industry consultation activities and recent programs as required




Skills and Qualifications:
Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher (TAE***** or equivalent) desirable but not essentialCertificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC*****)Experience in engaging, inspiring, and training in this sectorWork and industry experience in Building and ConstructionExperience developing and updating training packages in line with relevant industry and compliance standardsCurrent driver's licenseHigh level organisational, administrative, and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds
Desirable:
Knowledge and understanding of VET compliance and standards, and commitment to undertake ongoing professional development both in the areas of training and vocational competencyClear understanding of the RTO Standards ****, and willingness to remain qualified to train and assess to groups and in the workplaceWell-developed interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent people management and leadership skillsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, LMS
