Salary $98,****** to $113,****** p/a (pro-rata) + super *Temporary part time position (14 hours) - 1 year contractSupportive and cooperative team cultureAbout Ku-ring-gai CouncilKu-ring-gai is one of Sydney's most beautiful and environmentally rich areas, located just 16km north of the CBD.With a mix of vibrant town centres, leafy residential areas, heritage precincts, and natural bushland, we are a local government area committed to balancing growth with sustainability, character, and community values.About the roleWorking collaboratively with Council, community leaders and key stakeholders, you will coordinate community engagement activities, support governance processes, map community services and referral pathways, and contribute to the delivery of intercultural and interfaith initiatives that promote inclusion and social cohesion.Your duties will include, but are not limited to:Build trusted relationships with the Jewish community and other cultural and faith communities to strengthen social cohesion across Ku-ring-gaiCoordinate and support the Project Reference Group, including meeting administration, reporting and implementation of key actionsEngage with community organisations, multicultural agencies and stakeholders to identify community needs and strengthen partnershipsMap community services and referral pathways to improve access to culturally appropriate support for residentsDesign and deliver intercultural and interfaith initiatives that foster inclusion, understanding and meaningful community connectionsIdentify emerging community issues and support residents to access Council and external services,



escalating matters where appropriateQualifications, Skills & ExperienceDemonstrated experience in community engagement, community development or a similar liaison or outreach roleExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse cultural and faith communitiesExperience working collaboratively with stakeholders and developing strong community partnerships and referral pathwaysStrong organisational skills, including experience supporting committees, meetings or governance processesCultural awareness, sensitivity and sound judgement when working with community members on sensitive or complex issuesLived experience within the Jewish community, or significant experience working with the Jewish community and an understanding of its culture, values and community organisations, will be highly regardedFree onsite parkingAccess to Fitness PassportUp to $100 Health & Fitness yearly reimbursement (conditional)Opportunity to purchase up to 2 weeks additional annual leave per calendar yearFree confidential Employee Assistance ProgramSupportive and collaborative team cultureAccess to a wide range of development and training opportunitiesFor more information on the benefits offered at Ku-ring-gai Council, please refer to our websiteclick here.
