Reporting to the Case Manager, Residential Youth Workers deliver the day-to-day care to young people in the Residential Care house.A day in the role of a Residential Youth Worker may include supporting young people to manage challenging behaviours, planning or attending activities and following daily routines to promote life-skills development.

including Hope & Healing, induction and a minimum of two buddy shiftsFree access to the CALM Premium App & Flight Centre personal travel discountsAccess to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Key responsibilitiesProvide a safe and therapeutic environment for young people to grow and learnSupport and manage young people's complex and challenging behaviours in a consistent and calm mannerBuild rapport and remain non-judgmental whilst maintaining professional boundariesPlan individual and group activities to meet the young people's needs and goals in line with Case PlansUse daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal careTimely and accurate completion of administrative duties including petty cash, case notes, and incident reportsTransport clients to school, work, appointments and other commitmentsA QLD Working with Children Blue Card or have applied for oneCurrent Queensland driver's license with no restrictionsAbility to provide two references from recent employers (including your current line manager)Already hold or are enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field prior to commencing work (IFYS can provide advice/more information on this)Availability for a variety of different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend)As part of our recruitment process, we do a number of history screenings including a Licensed Care Suitability check (LCS2) and a National Crime CheckWe are deeply committed to the wellbeing, safety, cultural identity and dignity of every individual who accesses our services, including children, young people, adults and people with disabilities.
