We are seeking a mechanical Field Tech Support to join our team supporting operations across the Pilbara region of Western Australia on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth!
The Role:
Join our team supporting remote mining operations across the Pilbara.
In this hands-on field-based role, you will maintain, repair, and improve specialised mineral logging and survey equipment, while also supporting and mentoring junior technicians.
This role involves regular travel to remote mine sites, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and minimising equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems on field vehicles and logging equipmentInterpret technical drawings, schematics, and system specificationsInstall, test, and commission equipment upgrades and system improvementsProvide on-site technical support at client mine sites, including breakdown response and fault rectificationDeliver training and mentoring to junior technicians and field operatorsWork closely with engineering, operations, and clients to ensure efficient service delivery and reduced downtimeMaintain accurate maintenance records and update systems (e.g. MEX)Manage spare parts usage and support inventory controlContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including reliability and process enhancementsEnsure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and quality standards
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Certificate III (or higher) in Electronics, Electrical,
or related trade qualificationUnrestricted Manual C Class Driver's LicenceStrong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting experienceExperience in electrical/electronic control systems (installation and maintenance)Exposure to PLCs, instrumentation, automation, or CAN systems (desirable)Experience with mining, logging, or heavy mobile equipment (advantageous)Strong computer skills and ability to maintain digital maintenance recordsAbility to work independently and as part of a remote field teamStrong commitment to safety and safe work practicesExcellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skillsPhysically fit and able to pass a functional capability assessment
