– Berwick VICIndependent Life Disability Supports Pty Ltd (InLife) is expanding, and we are seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team across South East Melbourne.We support participants living with a wide range of disabilities and are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and meaningful community participation.LocationsWe are actively hiring across:Narre WarrenSurrounding suburbs in South East MelbourneEmployment TypesCasualPart-timeFull-timePay: SCHADS Award rates + casual loading, with penalty rates for evenings, weekends and public holidays.Minimum availability of 3 days per week is required.Multiple positions are available — immediate start available for suitable candidates.About the RoleAs a Support Worker, you will provide individualised and personalised support to participants in their homes and communities.
You will work collaboratively with participants, families and allied health professionals to help participants achieve their NDIS goals while maintaining choice, control and independence.This role may include supporting participants with both daily living and community access, depending on individual needs.Working in Family HomesMany of our participants live at home with their families.
In these placements, family members are actively involved in day-to-day support and will provide guidance, feedback and direction on how support is delivered in their home.
You must be genuinely comfortable working alongside families, open to feedback, and willing to adapt your approach to each household.
Every home runs differently — a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
If you prefer to work fully independently without family involvement, these roles will not be the right fit.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver person-centred support in line with the participant's NDIS planAssist with daily living activities,
including domestic assistanceSupport participants to engage in community and social activitiesEncourage independence, skill development and decision-makingMaintain professional boundaries and uphold participant dignityAccurately document progress notes and complete required reportingFollow organisational policies, procedures and risk management plansCommunicate effectively with families, coordinators and service providersComply with the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of ConductParticipate in ongoing training and professional developmentTo be considered, you must meet the following:Minimum 2 years' experience in disability supportCertificate IV in Disability or equivalentCertificate III may be considered based on relevant experienceDemonstrated experience in domestic assistanceStrong understanding of person-centred and rights-based supportAbility to manage complex behaviours professionally and safelyWillingness to learn and take direction, including from participants' familiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsReliable, patient and adaptable approach to support workPhysical capacity to meet the requirements of the roleCompliance Requirements (Must Be Current Prior to Commencement)NDIS Worker Screening CheckNational Police CheckWorking With Children CheckCompletion of the NDIS Worker Orientation ProgramInfection Prevention and Control trainingCurrent First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificatesAdditional RequirementsFull and current Australian driver's licenceOwn vehicleAbility to travel between participant locationsWillingness to work a variety of shiftsWhy Join Independent Life Disability Supports?
