Bright Horizons Australia Childcare Tumut
is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Childcare Educator/ Service Kitchen Assistant Chef to join our team on a permanent Part Time basis.
The successful applicant will possess a commitment to providing excellence in care and passion for preparing high quality and nutritious food for children from birth to 6 years of age.
Responsibilities of the Educator Side of the role include:
Nurturing, educating and caring for children 6 weeks to school age
Planning and implementing exciting and stimulating activities and learning opportunities for the children
Daily communication with parents and other team members
Working in a fun, friendly and welcoming team in a modern and bright Service
Getting out and interacting with the local community as a part of our Out and About excursion program
The Assistant Chef side of the role encompasses the following: -
Planning and preparing nutritious meals for children from birth to 6 years of age
Catering for the diverse allergy and dietary requirements of children
Implementing the ServicesFood Safety Plan
Delivering consistent high-quality food and presentation to all work practices
Undertaking all record reporting requirements
Building and maintaining robust relationships with team members, parents, children and the wider community
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations
The ability to work 5 days week (flexibility with hours available)
Assist with Cooking classes with the Children as a part of out Foodie Funday Days
Do you possess the following?
A passion for providing high-quality, early childhood care and education
Enthusiasm and drive to succeed in providing interesting and inviting learning spaces
Current Working With Children's Check
Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Motivation, initiative and willingness to be a valued team player
An enthusiastic approach to working with children, families and the team of Educators at the service
Food Supervisor's Certificate and /or Food Handler's Certificate
A passion and enthusiasm for cooking
A desire to create nutritious meals for children
