We are seeking an experienced
State Manager – Queensland
to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity.
Reporting to the Head of Foodservice, this is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving the performance, growth and strategic direction of the Queensland market.
Leading a high-performing remote team, you will oversee
three Account Managers and a dedicated Sales Administrator
, providing coaching, leadership and direction while ensuring exceptional customer outcomes and sustainable business growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales or commercial leader who understands the Seafood foodservice, chilled or frozen food sectors and is passionate about developing people, strengthening customer partnerships and delivering commercial success.
About the Role
As the
State Manager – Queensland
, you will have full ownership of the state's commercial performance, leading sales growth, profitability, customer engagement and operational execution across the Queensland market.
Working closely with key customers, distributors, foodservice operators and internal stakeholders, you will identify growth opportunities, drive strategic initiatives and ensure Pacific West Foods continues to deliver exceptional service and value to its customers.
You will also play a key leadership role by mentoring and developing your remote team, fostering accountability, collaboration and a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage strategic customer relationships, including end users, national and state groups, distributors and major foodservice operators.
Develop and execute the Queensland state sales strategy, revenue plan and promotional calendar.
Drive net sales growth, gross margin performance and market share across the Queensland foodservice channel.
Manage commercial negotiations, pricing strategies and trading terms within agreed parameters.
Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing customer partnerships.
Lead state tenders and local commercial initiatives.
Monitor sales performance, forecasting accuracy and customer service outcomes to ensure business targets are achieved.
Partner with internal teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Customer Service to support product launches, inventory planning and operational excellence.
Manage customer escalations and ensure successful execution of promotional campaigns and new product launches.
Contribute to P&L; performance through effective pricing, trade spend management and S&OP; planning.
Lead, coach and develop a remote team consisting of
three Account Managers and a dedicated Sales Administrator
, driving capability, engagement and performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and support career development across the team.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused and results-driven team culture across Queensland.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, quality requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared commercial objectives.
About You
You are a commercially driven and people-focused leader with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and deliver sustainable business growth within the Seafood foodservice environment.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Proven experience leading a state or regional sales, commercial or business function within seafood, foodservice, frozen, chilled or related food industries.
Demonstrated success leading and developing remote sales teams.
Experience managing key distributors, foodservice operators and major customer relationships.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L; performance, pricing, trade spend and strategic planning.
A track record of delivering sales growth and identifying new business opportunities.
Exceptional leadership, coaching and people development skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Relevant qualifications in Business, Commerce or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
