We are seeking an experienced and motivated Rostering Team Leader to lead our Workforce and Allocations team based in Kings Park, NSW.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day rostering function, supporting and developing team members, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently, and maintaining high standards of customer service and workforce coordination across the organisation.
The successful applicant will be an experienced rostering skilled who can lead by example, manage competing priorities, and foster a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.

Employment Conditions
Permanent full-time position (38 hours per week)
Primarily Monday to Friday office-based role located in Kings Park, NSW
Occasional weekend work may be required to support operational requirements
Participation in an on-call escalation roster is required to provide after-hours support and leadership assistance when operational issues arise
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Rostering,
you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Workforce and Allocations team.
You will ensure shifts are filled effectively, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in maintaining workforce compliance, service continuity and exceptional stakeholder service across a 24/7 service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership, support and coaching to the Workforce and Allocations team
Oversee daily rostering operations to ensure shifts are filled efficiently and service delivery requirements are met
Support and mentor team members, including onboarding, training and performance development
Assist with the management of complex staffing issues, critical incidents and urgent roster changes
Monitor workforce coverage and proactively identify staffing risks and service gaps
Ensure roster practices comply with organisational requirements, industrial obligations and fatigue management principles
Act as an escalation point for the rostering team in relation to complex workforce matters
Liaise effectively with operational managers, support staff and other internal stakeholders
Maintain accurate records and reporting within workforce management systems
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and team efficiency
Participate in an after-hours on-call escalation roster and provide operational leadership outside standard business hours as required

You possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities and can remain calm under pressure while managing competing operational demands.
Demonstrated experience in rostering, workforce coordination or scheduling within a high-volume environment
Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising staff
Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
Experience using workforce management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
Experience working within disability, community services, health or aged care sectors will be highly regarded

Sound understanding of workforce planning, rostering principles and service delivery requirements
