Established in ****, Montdami is a privately owned civil construction company delivering land development, road, drainage, infrastructure, open-space and related civil works throughout Victoria.

About the role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of allocated civil construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing project drawings, specifications, contracts and technical documentation.
Ensuring project documentation, Inspection and Test Plans, internal procedures and construction requirements are available and implemented at each stage of the works.
Communicating quality, environmental and health and safety requirements to site supervisors and project personnel.
Supporting the preparation and implementation of construction programs, methodologies and project plans.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, councils, authorities and other project stakeholders.
Liaising with site teams and internal departments to coordinate labour, plant, materials and project resources.
Monitoring project progress against approved programs, budgets and contractual requirements.
Identifying potential delays, commercial risks, variations and cost overruns, and escalating issues promptly.
Preparing cost forecasts and providing regular updates on anticipated final project costs.
Assisting with variations, progress claims, procurement,



subcontract administration and project reporting.
Investigating cost, claim and production anomalies and supporting the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
Coordinating project meetings and ensuring actions, decisions and minutes are recorded and distributed.
Maintaining accurate project records, correspondence, registers and supporting documentation.
Providing regular and ad hoc engineering, commercial and project‐performance reports to management.
Supporting the successful handover and close‐out of completed projects.
Contributing to improvements in project delivery systems, processes and construction practices.
About You
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a proven track record delivering projects in the $2M–$5M range within Australia (ideally Victoria).
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
Ideally 2‐4 years engineering experience within the civil construction industry.
Demonstrated experience delivering residential subdivisions, land development or similar civil infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, road construction, services and associated civil works.
The ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications and contractual documentation.
Experience with project cost control, forecasting, procurement and subcontractor coordination.
The ability to prepare estimates and assess costs using first‐principles methods.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and project‐planning software.




Strong CAD skills (preferably AutoCAD).
Sound analytical and problem‐solving capabilities, with the confidence to question existing practices and recommend practical improvements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to build productive relationships with site teams, subcontractors, clients, consultants, councils and authorities.
Solid planning, organisation and time‐management skills.
A proactive, self‐motivated and practical approach to your work.
High professional standards and strong attention to detail.
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced construction environment.
A current:
Victorian driver's licence; and
Construction Industry White Card
are essential for this position.
