Senior Project Officer Based in Newcastle, or flexible across any of our NSW offices Employment type – Temporary till 31 December **** Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10, $ 129,464 - $ 142,665 per annum + superannuation Your role Homes NSW brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice.
We lead the delivery of more social and affordable housing, work to break the cycle of homelessness, and provide quality public housing to more than 262,000 tenants across NSW.
You will lead a team of subject matter experts who manage complex, high priority maintenance enquiries escalated from the call centre.
When matters are too complex for frontline teams, your team drives resolution, ensuring the best outcomes for tenants through effective contractor liaison, process improvements, and operational decision making.
What you'll do Lead a team of maintenance SMEs handling complex, escalated enquiries in a high volume, high priority environment.
Oversee building maintenance, liaise with contractors, and implement process improvements to deliver tenant focused outcomes.
Pivot team priorities based on workload, operational risk, and strategic objectives.
Contribute to Asset Maintenance budgets, forecasts, reporting, and projects to strengthen service delivery and system capability.
Analyse contractor performance, monitor trends, identify risks, and provide high level operational insights.
Manage projects including planning, resources, budgets, and reporting.
Build team capability across business intelligence, financial management, and maintenance systems.
What we're looking for Proven experience leading specialist teams within building maintenance or asset management.
Strong understanding of building repair and maintenance processes, with the ability to lead technical SMEs.
Experience in high volume, high priority maintenance environments.
Demonstrated experience in financial budgeting, forecasting, and executive level reporting.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, project management, and prioritisation skills.




Strong technical ability and aptitude for quickly learning and using complex maintenance management and tracking systems.
