We are seeking a Commissioning Coordinator – Urgent Care with clinical experience in an Emergency Department, Urgent Care Clinic and/or contemporary general practice setting to join our Primary Care Commissioning team.
This role offers a unique chance to apply your frontline healthcare experience in a strategic role focused on designing, commissioning and improving services that make it easier for people to access timely, appropriate care closer to home.
Working with clinicians, service providers, Local Health Districts and community stakeholders, you'll help develop and oversee innovative urgent care and after-hours GP services that improve patient experiences, strengthen care pathways and reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments.

About the Role
As Commissioning Coordinator – Urgent Care, you will:
- Coordinate the design, procurement, monitoring and management of commissioned urgent and after-hours services in line with relevant program and funding guidelines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commissioned service providers and key stakeholders.
- Monitor service performance, evaluate outcomes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to service planning, needs assessment, procurement and tender evaluation activities.
- Support activity workplans, departmental reporting and contract deliverables.
- Ensure services align with evidence-based practice and HNECC PHN's First Nations Commissioning Principles.
What You Will Bring to the Role
- Tertiary qualifications in health, social welfare or business.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in an Emergency Department, Urgent Care Clinic and/or contemporary general practice setting.
- A strong understanding of patient flow, urgent and after-hours care pathways and primary healthcare service delivery.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including consultation, consensus building, reporting and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to achieve organisational and contractual outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- High-level computer literacy across Microsoft Office applications.

*Salary: This role is classified as Grade I - M under our Enterprise Agreement.
The salary offered will be dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.
New appointments are generally offered within I-K.
