The successful applicant will be based in our Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast office.
The Opportunity
Working closely with Special Counsel Dean Aitchison in our Sunshine Coast Construction team, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of construction matters, including:
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts (AS‐standard forms, bespoke contracts, consultancy agreements, subcontractor agreements).
Front‐end advisory work for developers, builders, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Project support across procurement, risk allocation, contract administration and project delivery.
Assisting with early‐stage dispute avoidance, contract interpretation and strategic advice.




Exposure to broader commercial matters as part of integrated project delivery.
This role is ideal for a motivated junior lawyer who wants hands‐on experience, direct client contact, and the opportunity to develop strong technical and commercial skills under highly supportive senior lawyers.
The Candidate
You will bring:
The ability to run files with guidance from senior lawyers.
A genuine interest in construction law and the commercial drivers behind projects.
A proactive, solutions‐focused approach to work.
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients.
Strong attention to detail, organisation and file management.
Criteria
Ideally you will have:
At least one (1) year PAE in construction, commercial or projects work.
A can‐do attitude and the confidence to tackle new areas of law.
Initiative and a desire to take ownership of files and client relationships.
