DKG Building and Development is seeking a skilled
Carpenter
to join our team on a
casual basis
.
Based in
Perth, North of the river
, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse building and development projects across the region.
As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fittings, playing a crucial part in delivering high-quality builds that meet our clients' specifications and industry standards.
Key responsibilities
Measuring, marking, and cutting timber and other materials according to specifications and plans
Assembling and installing wooden structures, including frames, flooring, roofing, and wall panelling
Installing doors, windows, and other fixtures with precision and attention to detail
Preparing and finishing surfaces, including sanding, staining, and varnishing as required
Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete carpentry work
Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and blueprints to ensure accuracy
Maintaining a clean and secure work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Collaborating with other tradespeople and site teams to ensure project timelines are met
Conducting quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations
What we're looking for
A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in the carpentry trade
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and measurement equipment
Strong understanding of building codes, health and safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications




Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to adapt to casual work schedules
Current driver's licence and reliable transport to various job sites
Working with Timber Framing, Cabinet Making, or Joinery experience is highly desirable
