Finance Manager (Fixed-term, Six Month Contract)
Village Baxter is a trusted not-for-profit provider of retirement living, residential aged care and community services, supporting more than 1,200 older people across our community.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our Executive Team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for six months to ensure business continuity during an extended temporary employee absence.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated, proactive, hands-on finance professional who enjoys engaging with people, improving systems and partnering with senior leaders to make a genuine difference.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead our Finance, Payroll and Administration teams while providing strategic and operational financial leadership across the organisation.
This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for six (6) months to support business continuity during an extended temporary employee absence.
This is a full time, 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, onsite position located in the Administration Building, 8 Robinsons Road Frankston South.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the preparation of monthly financial reports, Board reports and management accounts
Managing budgets, forecasts and financial modelling
Overseeing payroll governance, superannuation, taxation and statutory reporting
Managing cash flow, internal controls and financial compliance
Supporting Retirement Living and Residential Aged Care resident financial transactions
Leading the annual audit process and external reporting obligations




Providing financial advice to the CEO, Executive Team and department managers
Leading a small, experienced finance and administration team
Driving continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.
About you
You are an experienced Aged Care or Retirement Living Finance Manager or Senior Accountant who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery.
You'll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and membership of a professional Accounting body
Demonstrated experience managing finance functions
Robust budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
Previous leadership experience supervising finance and payroll staff
Excellent knowledge of payroll, GST and ATO compliance
Highly developed analytical and communication skills

Employment requirements:
The successful applicant will be required to work onsite 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday and complete:
National Criminal History Check
