The role also involves the design and development of high-quality educational resources and the establishment and maintenance of effective partnerships with industry and key stakeholders.This role suits an industry professional who is passionate about sharing their expertise and supporting learner success.What You'll DoPlan, prepare, teach and assess learning activities that meet learner needsEstablish and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment using diverse methods that empower and encourage student learningImplement Melbourne Polytechnic learning processes, including student participation, learning plans for students at risk and reasonable adjustments to meet individual learner needsAssist with basic educational pastoral care, student counselling, consultation and referral to appropriate support servicesEstablish and maintain networks with industry, relevant VET bodies and other stakeholdersMaintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment in line with Melbourne Polytechnic policiesWork within quality systems, prepare session plans and unit outlines, maintain high-standard records,



and participate in validation and moderation activitiesParticipate in student entry level assessment and course selection interviews, including orientation and induction where applicableParticipate in professional development to maintain educational and vocational currencyActively participate in staff meetingsWhat You'll BringEssentialAppropriate vocational competency and/or qualifications together with relevant, recent and current industry knowledge, skills and experience in FloristryDemonstrated understanding of learning principles, teaching methodologies and a high standard of teaching practice, with a commitment to learner-centred teachingProven capacity to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines, work productively both independently and within a team, and liaise with the Education Manager regarding student and case management issuesWell-developed teaching skills, including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse learner needs, together with demonstrated effective student management skillsDemonstrated capacity to initiate and implement change and innovation in response to emerging needs and prioritiesHigh-level interpersonal skills and an exemplary professional approach, together with excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated capacity to network, explore and develop partnerships to increase student engagement and opportunities during and post studiesExcellent ICT skills to producework for learners, assist with e-learning and report across a range of programsDemonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous ImprovementDesirableExperience teaching or assessing in a VET environmentExperience working with diverse learner cohortsKnowledge of current issues in vocational education and training, particularly as they relate to the areas taught within the DepartmentLevel II First Aid CertificateQualifications & Mandatory ChecksAppointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements (where applicable) and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.Teaching QualificationsTo be considered for this role,
