Flexible, part-time role with genuine work-life balanceVaried role spanning finance, facilities & Board support$100K-$120K pro rata in a prestigious CBD chambersOffice ManagerLocation: Melbourne CBD | Part-Time, Flexible | $100,000 - $120,000 AUD (pro rata)Our client, a prestigious Barristers Chambers located in Melbourne's CBD, is seeking an experienced Office Manager to join their team on a part-time, flexible basis.
This is a broad and diverse role that blends facilities management, member services, board support, and finance, all within a professional legal environment that demands discretion, accuracy, and a high standard of presentation at all times.About the RoleThis is a fantastic chance for an experienced practice or office manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a well-regarded Chambers, working closely with members, the Board, and front-of-house staff.Key responsibilities includeMember & Onboarding ManagementEnd-to-end coordination of the new member process, including membership agreements, fee collection, and structured inductionsMaintaining accurate member records and databasesManaging membership renewals, fee schedules, and agreement variationsActing as first point of contact for member queriesOffboarding departing members, including final reconciliationsFacilities & Office OperationsOverseeing the day-to-day running of the Chambers, including communal, meeting, and shared workspace areasManaging room bookings, meeting space setups, and AV requirementsCoordinating with external contractors, building management, and service providers for maintenance, cleaning, security,



and fit-out or repair worksManaging office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationshipsEnsuring the physical environment consistently reflects the standard of the ChambersEvents CoordinationPlanning and coordinating Chambers events, including member functions, professional development sessions, and Board-related eventsManaging invitations, RSVPs, and event logistics end-to-endBoard & Director SupportTaking and distributing accurate minutes at Board meetingsProviding ad hoc administrative support to Directors, including diary management and document preparationAssisting with the preparation of Board papers and reportsSupporting governance and compliance requirementsFinance & Accounting SupportCollecting and receipting membership fees and other Chambers incomeAssisting with accounts payable and receivable functionsLiaising with the external accountant or bookkeeperMonthly reconciliations, expense tracking, and budget reporting supportIssuing invoices and following up on outstanding paymentsPeople ManagementDirect line management of the Receptionist, including day-to-day oversight and schedulingSupporting a positive, professional front-of-house cultureBackground & Experience The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in an Office Manager or Practice Manager role,



ideally gained within a skilled services, legal, or membership-based environment.
Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills are essential, along with hands‐on experience in facilities management.You'll be comfortable operating at both an operational and senior stakeholder level, with the confidence to support a Board and the warmth to build genuine relationships across a diverse membership.
Exposure to finance and accounts functions, facilities oversight, and people leadership will be highly regarded, as will a natural ability to manage competing priorities with discretion, composure, and strong attention to detail.Experience, Technical Requirements & QualificationsOffice management and bookkeeping/accounting experienceExperience in a legal office environment (desirable)Extensive use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Mac Mail, printer drivers, Teams, OneDrive, Dropbox, and online bankingComfortable learning new software applications (e.g., for coordination with Company accountants)Must be willing and able to undergo VicPol and AFP police checksSkills & AttributesStrong bookkeeping and financial administration experience (essential)Experience liaising with external accountants/auditorsHighly organised with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritiesExperience supporting governance or committee structures (desirable)Proven people leadership capabilityProfessional, proactive, and service-oriented approachCompensation $100,000 - $120,000 AUD (pro rata for part-time hours)
