About the Company
Kangaroo Island Pure Grain (KIPG) specialises in the production and processing of premium quality grains grown on Kangaroo Island.
As a fully integrated grain company, KIPG oversees the product from the paddock through harvest, cleaning, storage, packing and shipping, ensuring our customers receive grain that consistently meets the highest quality and export standards.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Osborne Manager, you will fulfil the Authorised Officer (AO) responsibilities associated with exporting grain from Australia while also managing the site's Quality Assurance activities.
A proactive, hands-on approach will be essential to perform successfully in this key role.
You will be responsible for ensuring all export requirements are met, maintaining KIPG's quality systems, supporting grain classification activities and working closely with the production team to ensure our products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
As the site's Authorised Officer, you will implement and oversee all daily export requirements as set out by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
Collectively, you will ensure all product quality checks for bagging and bulk activities meet AO obligations, customer specifications and loading schedules required for export.
You will also manage KIPG's Quality Assurance documentation, oversee grain classification and retained samples, investigate any quality concerns or customer enquiries, and ensure product traceability is maintained throughout the production process.
Key Duties Include
Supervise all AO procedures in conjunction with KIPG grain processing principles.
Conduct compulsory checks of all products received and processed through to finished product loadout.




Manage Quality Assurance documentation and ensure all records are accurate and maintained.
Ensure all KIPG QA criteria, inspections and electronic paperwork are completed accurately and filed with the relevant authority.
Uphold KIPG product traceability procedures to meet both AO regulations and company protocols.
Coordinate grain classification, product testing and retained sample storage.
Monitor product quality and investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and quality-related enquiries.
Coordinate quality assurance activities including inspections, testing and audits.
Educate and support the production team in quality requirements and best practices.
Ensure Osborne site hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Work closely with the Osborne team to meet customer specifications and export loading schedules.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Current DAFF Authorised Officer Accreditation (essential).
GTA Grain Classification accreditation or relevant grain classification experience (preferred).
Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role within the grain, food or agricultural industry.
Strong understanding of quality systems and export compliance.
Hold and maintain a high-risk forklift licence (or be prepared to obtain one).
Solid computer skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
