Position InformationKooringal Public School is located in Wagga Wagga, in the Riverina in South-Western NSW.
It provides learning opportunities for approximately 367 students.The school is supported by a strong and vibrant culturally diverse community, including 22.5% of students from an Aboriginal Background and 13% from a language background other than English.
The school has one support class and also has 10% of students from Defence force families.In addition to evidence-based strategies to support literacy and numeracy growth and achievement, the school prides itself on supporting the wellbeing of all students.
Extracurricular activities in High Potential and Gifted Education, Robotics, Sport, Science, Technology, and Creative and Performing Arts provides students with diverse experiences and opportunities for excellence.
A key aspect of our community engagement is the ongoing development of the Kooringal Public School Junior and Concert Bands, which involves close collaboration with the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.The school values the input from all parents as partners in learning and is supported by a proactive and engaged Parents and Citizens Association and the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.Selection CriteriaApproval to teach.
In addition to the general selection criteria,Strong educational leadership, with the proven capacity to inspire a culture of continual school improvement, utilising evidence-based practice and professional learning to challenge and extend all staff and positively impact student growth and attainment.Proven success to implement data informed practices from internal and external sources to lead and develop explicit teaching and learning programs that improve student outcomes.Demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections and collaboration with all stakeholders,



including the local community, school parents and carers, the AECG, and external agencies, to support student success in all aspects of school life.Understanding of the complexities of student wellbeing, with a proven capacity to support staff and lead improvements for all students in partnership with parents and the community.
General Selection Criteria1.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education2.
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs3.
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community4.
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning5.
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning6.
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal peopleConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
