Principal Level P3 – Jindabyne Public School

Location: Jindabyne, New South Wales (Queanbeyan). Total remuneration package will be $241,200.00, including an annual base salary of $213,283.00. School name: Jindabyne Public School. FTE: 1.0.

Jindabyne Public School is a vibrant, rapidly growing primary and early childhood education facility located on Monero‑Ngarigo land at the gateway to the Snowy Mountains, approximately two hours south of Canberra. The school currently serves around 280 students, with a planned capacity of nearly 480 students.

The setting and growing facilities offer a stimulating and supportive environment for professional engagement and outdoor lifestyle.

In addition to comprehensive early childhood education, the school also has a newly constructed preschool facility under development. The campus includes modern learning spaces, well‑resourced classrooms, and outdoor areas designed to support a broad range of academic, cultural, and recreational activities.

This role includes:

- Clear child safety responsibilities, including mandatory reporting, and a strong commitment to maintaining a child‑safe environment by recognising, responding and reporting concerns and taking part in ongoing training and improvement of child‑protected practices.
- Implementing the National Quality Framework, fulfilling the role of nominated supervisor, and ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children through high‑quality early childhood education and continuous improvement.

Specific selection criteria:

1. Proven ability to establish and sustain trust‑based, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaged school culture aligned with the vision and values of the School Excellence Plan and the NSW Department of Education’s strategic priorities.
2. Highly approachable and engaging leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills,



with the capacity to lead a school community purposefully and collaboratively through complex change management in an environment that supports student and staff wellbeing, engagement and success.
3. Proven ability to implement evidence‑based teaching and learning practices, including the use of data and explicit teaching pedagogies, to drive continuous improvement in literacy, numeracy, and broader student outcomes.
4. Proven ability to inspire and empower teams by uniting all stakeholders around a clear, compelling vision that enhances student engagement, achievement, and shared ownership of school improvement, through strong, visible, and strategic leadership that builds staff and executive capacity.

General selection criteria:

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department’s Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Conditions:

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants should include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of the application.

Classification structure for principals and remuneration details are based on school complexity measured through the school's RAM allocation, with the principal classification for this school being Principal Level P3 for 2026.
