Belcher Diesel Service Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated business providing diesel and automotive services across North Queensland. As the preferred service provider for Volvo Penta, MAN and Yanmar Marine engines, we service and repair a wide range of commercial and recreational marine vessels.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Marine Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Cairns. In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing marine diesel engines and associated systems. Working across a diverse range of commercial and recreational vessels, no two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
Service, diagnose and repair marine diesel engines and associated systems.
Carry out engine removals, installations and rebuilds.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and fuel system faults.
Service and repair cooling, exhaust and propulsion systems.
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
Complete job cards and maintain accurate service records using our app-based management system.
Deliver high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.




Work collaboratively with the team to achieve daily operational goals.
Occasional travel to customer sites throughout North Queensland may be required, including overnight stays when necessary.
What You'll Need
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Marine Mechanic or equivalent.
Solid diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Own basic hand tools.
Ability to undertake drug and alcohol screening, medicals and site inductions where required.
A positive attitude and professional approach.
