Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW for a Master 24 / MED 2 / Diesel Fitter.
The role involves safely operating and navigating vessels within the Master 24 certification limits, overseeing crew and passenger safety, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring vessel performance, conducting routine inspections, and managing records related to operations, safety checks, and maintenance. The position also requires undertaking mechanical diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and associated systems,



coordinating with other technical personnel as needed.
Qualifications
Valid Master 24 and MED 2 certifications, with demonstrated experience in commercial vessel operation and marine safety management. Proven diesel fitting skills, including fault-finding, routine servicing, and repair of marine diesel engines and related mechanical systems.
Solid understanding of maritime regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and emergency response procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and operational documentation with attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work safely in an on-site, marine environment and adapt to changing operational demands.
Basic computer skills for logging maintenance, completing operational reports, and using digital tools relevant to vessel management. Previous experience in marine operations, shipyard, or commercial boating environments is highly beneficial. Physical capacity to perform manual tasks, work on and around vessels, and adhere to all safety and PPE requirements.
