Support Worker - Youth/Child Safety (Sunshine Coast)We are seeking a dedicated support workers to provide support to our Child Safety clients residing on the Sunshine Coast.
This role requires individuals who can navigate challenging behaviours such as verbal and physical aggression whilst encouraging independence and growth.Must have experience working with a range of disabilities such as but not limited to, ASD, ADHD, ODD, Self Harm, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Bipolar, Intellectual Impairment, Youth/Child Safety and extreme Verbal & Physical Aggression.What you'll doComplete all tasks relevant to support work including anything from meal preparation to domestic assistance and client transportManage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using approved techniques (Restrictive Practices)Provide direct support in a 2:1 & 1:1 capacity in accordance with the individual's care plan & PBSPMaintain detailed and accurate documentation such as shift notes, progress notes, behaviour charts and incident reportsFollow company policies and proceduresRequirementsValid Driver's Licence- Access to a comprehensive insured car with 5 seatsNDIS Module – Quality, Safety & YouNDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
for paid employmentBlue Card (WWCC) for paid employmentCurrentFirst Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)Previous experience in supporting individuals with complex needs, preferably in a youth and child safety context.Be able to work the following time frames: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 2pm-6am (sleepover), 10pm-6am awake/active shift.
