The School

Denmark Senior High School (SHS) is a high performing school located in the Shire of Denmark within the Great Southern region of Western Australia and near the banks of the Denmark River. Built on its current site in 2000, the school is set on 19 hectares of land one kilometre east of the town centre. The school provides a comprehensive Year 7 to Year 12 secondary school education.

The Role

Are you a passionate Health and Physical Education teacher seeking to empower every student to strive to achieve?

Denmark SHS is an Independent Public School seeking to appoint a highly competent, creative and innovative Health and Physical Education teacher commencing in 2027.

The successful applicant will ideally display a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive and reflective practice, ensuring that wellbeing, equity and engagement provide the foundation for achievement. They should possess the capacity to deliver a curriculum which is engaging, relevant and meaningful to students.





The successful applicant will ideally plan strategically for positive outcomes and with high professional knowledge in instructional practice. Guided by evidence and informed by Teaching for Impact, they will use high-impact strategies and continuously evaluate their effectiveness to ensure all students learn successfully. Possessing the skills to differentiate the curriculum to cater for a range of abilities, including special needs, is highly regarded. They should aim to sustain a culture that promotes educational best practice and possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Denmark SHS is an Approved Specialist Program: Basketball school and boasts a long history of success in the delivery of Outdoor Education – both Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and General. A recent addition of ATAR Health to an existing suite which also includes Physical Education Studies and Certificate II in Sport and Recreation offerings results in this learning area being well subscribed to by our student body. Capacity to teach senior schooling courses aligned to the business needs of the school will be looked upon favourably.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
