Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to join our Digital Modernisation Division, working in some of the most complex, multi‑vendor tech environments alongside a supportive and collaborative team.

This role requires technical expertise in Azure and AWS identity deployments, including synchronisation back to an on‑premises Active Directory workplace. You will bring strong problem‑solving skills, clear communication, and a genuine passion for continuous learning in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Support hybrid identity services across Microsoft Entra ID, AWS, and on‑premises Active Directory to maintain a consistent and secure identity experience.
- Administer directory synchronisation, federation, and provisioning processes, ensuring reliable joiner, mover, and leaver outcomes.
- Manage access administration across platforms, including users, groups, roles, RBAC, and permission sets aligned to policy and governance standards.
- Investigate and resolve identity‑related issues such as authentication failures, synchronisation errors, and access entitlement challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through identity governance, monitoring, automation, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience supporting hybrid identity environments across Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), AWS IAM, and Active Directory Domain Services.
- Strong understanding of identity protocols and integration patterns including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SCIM, federation, and synchronisation.
- Proven experience in identity governance, access control (RBAC),

least‑privilege principles, and privileged access practices.
- Technical capability in automation and scripting using tools such as PowerShell or Python to enhance identity operations.
- Effective communicator who collaborates inclusively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders and maintains high‑quality documentation.

Requirements

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance. Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements, which might place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency, or are former nationals of certain countries.

Benefits

Compensation packages include competitive pay, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement options. Pay ranges are provided as general guidelines and are not guaranteed. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include role responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, and applicable agreement.

Commitment to Non‑Discrimination

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
