Required Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas
- Certification in American Board of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related field
- Experience with general medicine, compensation & pension exams, or health assessments
- Excellent interview and physical assessment skills
- Ability to evaluate patients efficiently and document findings accurately
- Strong professional ethics and adherence to federal and state regulations
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in Veterans Affairs (VA) or military healthcare settings
- Knowledge of Compensation & Pension exam protocols
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
- Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
- Prior experience performing compensation and pension or disability evaluations is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Candidate must be within 50 miles of Houston, TX, for onsite or telehealth options
- Commitment to completing all required training and certifications
- Ability to perform interview-based assessments with some physical examinations
- Willingness to regularly complete follow-up administrative work (addendums, reports, diagnostics)
- No prescribing or treatment involved; focus on assessments only
- Local candidates preferred; travel expenses included in pay rates
