We are partnering with a global insurance consultancy and recognised market leader in operations and solutions who are continuing to expand in the APAC region are seeking a Data Architect to join their high-performing team in Sydney.

This is a consulting role, working directly with tier-one insurers and insurance ecosystem players to design and deliver cutting-edge data solutions that drive real business impact.

Key Requirement – Insurance Platform Experience (Essential)

This organisation operates exclusively within the insurance market, so candidates must have hands‑on experience working with insurance platforms, e.g: Guidewire, Duck Creek, Acturis, DXC Insurance platforms etc.

The Opportunity

As a Data Architect , you will play a pivotal role in shaping data strategy and architecture across complex insurance environments. You’ll work at the intersection of business and technology—partnering with clients, platform teams, and engineering functions to deliver scalable, cloud-based data ecosystems.

You will be advising clients and leading architecture across core insurance domains including policy, claims, billing, underwriting and customer analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Strategy

- Define end-to-end data architecture across Insurance platform solutions
- Design modern, cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake / Azure)
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across insurance domains
- Lead data platform modernisation and legacy migration initiatives

Insurance Platforms

- Architect data flows for reporting and operational analytics




- Design ingestion and downstream data solutions aligned to business reporting needs
- Collaborate closely with platform teams to ensure consistent data definitions

Snowflake & Cloud Data Platforms

- Design scalable Snowflake architectures (performance, cost optimisation, security)
- Implement ELT pipelines and transformation logic using SQL and ADF/SSIS
- Define security controls including RBAC and data governance frameworks
- Lead design and delivery of pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Build and optimise SSIS packages for hybrid and legacy integrations
- Establish patterns for incremental loads, reconciliation, and observability

Governance & Delivery Leadership

- Define data quality frameworks, lineage, and governance standards
- Mentor engineering teams and lead solution design workshops

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience

- 12+ years in data engineering / data architecture
- Strong Insurance platform experience
- Expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS
- Experience migrating legacy data platforms to modern cloud environments
- Proven ability to design scalable, enterprise-grade data models
- Strong insurance domain knowledge (policy lifecycle, claims, billing, reinsurance)
