Cape Naturaliste College (CNC) is a community-based school established in 2008 and offers a collaborative learning environment for students. This 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position begins Term 1, 2027 and may be extended or made permanent.
The Role
As Head of Learning Area – Science, you will work closely with the Principal to provide educational leadership within the school and the broader community. Your responsibilities include: developing and promoting the school’s vision for Science, encouraging participation from staff, volunteers and stakeholders, providing professional guidance to Science teachers, ensuring curriculum relevance, facilitating teaching and learning outcomes, managing performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Science is highly desirable.

Eligibility

- Valid Working With Children Check
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education

- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes
- Demonstrated qualified knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure high educational outcomes for all students, including Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and students with special needs
- Demonstrated capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources
