We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a dynamic FIFO role. In this position you will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair a wide range of off‑highway diesel equipment while delivering excellent customer support across Karratha, the Pilbara region, and remote WA sites.
About the Role
Based in Karratha on a FIFO roster from Perth, this role involves planned maintenance, breakdown response, major component repairs, and technical diagnostics at regional and remote customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostics, servicing, preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel‑powered equipment and engines.
- Perform minor and major mechanical repairs in field environments.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic faults.
- Complete detailed service reports, timesheets and safety documentation.
- Manage customer relationships and provide professional technical support.
- Ensure parts are ordered and available ahead of scheduled work.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to the highest standard.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and productivity enhancements.
- Provide relief support across FIFO rosters and Pilbara operations when required.
- Participate in ongoing technical and safety training programs.
What You’ll Bring
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a related industry.
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
- Experience working autonomously in field service and remote site environments.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Well‑developed reporting and documentation abilities.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
