Utiliti Accounting and Tax Pty Ltd – Bondi Junction NSW

We're a modern accounting and advisory practice supporting a growing portfolio of business clients. We pair a hands-on local team with an offshore delivery team to give our clients reliable, high-quality bookkeeping, compliance and month-end reporting — and the strategic advice to go with it. We work in the cloud, we value getting things right, and we invest in our people.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of client delivery across an assigned portfolio and be the trusted day-to-day contact our clients rely on.

The role

Reporting directly to the Director, you'll own month-end close across your client portfolio and lead the quality of everything that goes out the door. You'll coordinate our offshore delivery team, review their work, and be the primary point of contact for clients on bookkeeping and month-end matters — with the Director stepping in on advisory and strategic questions.

This is a genuine ownership role for someone who enjoys running a portfolio, lifting quality and building great client relationships.

What you'll do

Own month-end close across an assigned client portfolio, including coordinating the offshore delivery team

Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients on bookkeeping and month-end matters

Review and quality-assure offshore output before it's released to clients

Prepare and review BAS and IAS for Director review and lodgement

Monitor superannuation, PAYG and payroll obligations across the portfolio

Maintain audit-ready workpaper files for every client

Contribute to end-to-end onboarding of new clients

Identify and implement process improvements that make delivery sharper and faster

What you'll bring

Solid experience in a bookkeeping, accounting or business-services role, ideally within a practice or multi-client environment

Strong hands-on skills in Xero and MYOB

Confidence preparing BAS/IAS and managing superannuation, PAYG and payroll obligations

A sharp eye for quality — you catch what others miss and hold a high standard on review

Great communication skills and a professional, client-first approach

Comfort coordinating a team and juggling multiple client deadlines, especially around month-end

Experience with Asana and Practice Protect (or similar practice tools) is a plus

CA/CPA qualified or working towards it is well regarded, though relevant experience matters most

$90,000 + super, with performance reviewed as you take full ownership of your portfolio

- Genuinely versatile working arrangements — we care about output and quality, not clocking hours in a seat, with a mix of office and work-from-home to suit you
- A well-located Eastern Suburbs office, easy to get to
- Cloud-first tools and systems, and an offshore team to leverage
- Direct access to and mentoring from the Director
- A growing practice where your ideas on process and improvement are genuinely wanted

Full-time, 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with flexible working arrangements. Based at our Eastern Suburbs, NSW office with work-from-home flexibility. Australian working rights required.

We're an equal opportunity employer. The successful applicant will be required to complete pre-employment checks, which may include reference and background checks.
