Senior Receptionist (Part-Time) - Middle Camberwell Medical Centre
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Receptionist to join our busy and growing medical practice.
This is a key frontline role responsible for coordinating the day-to-day reception function, supporting the reception team, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience .
Working closely with and reporting to the Assistant Practice Manager , you will play an important role in maintaining smooth operations—particularly on days when management is not onsite.
This role requires between 20 to 30 hours.

What You'll Be Doing
Front Desk Coordination
- Coordinate daily reception activities to ensure smooth patient flow
- Act as the go-to person for reception staff during your shifts
- Support team members with prioritisation and workflow management
- Ensure processes and procedures are consistently followed
Patient Experience
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all patients
- Manage more complex patient enquiries or concerns
- Ensure a professional, welcoming, and efficient front desk environment
Administration & Billing Support
- Maintain accurate patient records and appointment schedules
- Support Medicare/private billing processes and identify discrepancies
- Assist with administrative follow-ups and daily operational tasks
- Contact patients for recalls and reminders
Team Support
- Provide guidance and support to reception staff on a day-to-day basis
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
- Lead by example in professionalism, teamwork, and efficiency
Communication & Escalation
- Keep the Assistant Practice Manager informed of issues, trends, or risks
- Escalate complex patient, staff, or operational matters appropriately
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Senior Receptionist or experienced Medical Receptionist
- A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in medical reception is required for this senior role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Bp Premier
- Strong understanding of medical administration and billing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- A proactive, team-focused attitude
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare billing processes is required.
- This role requires between 20 to 30 hours.
