Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Educational Leader
John Paul College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Educational Leader to join our well-established Outside School Hours Care team as Second in Charge. This is a permanent part-time role of approximately 25 to 30 hours per week, with regular working hours between 12pm and 6pm. Hours are flexible and negotiable with the successful candidate.
Working closely with our Head of OSHC, you'll help lead the delivery of Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care programs for Kindergarten and Primary aged students, while also stepping in as Responsible Person when needed.

What You’ll Do
- Design impactful programs: Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of engaging, developmentally appropriate programs aligned with My Time, Our Place (MTOP) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Mentor and guide: Support and build the capacity of OSHC Educators through coaching, feedback, and modelling best practice in child engagement and positive behaviour management
- Lead operational excellence: Assist with rostering through Deputy, monitor bookings and attendance through Xplor,
and ensure staffing ratios remain compliant and within budget
- Champion compliance: Maintain accurate records, support policy review, and ensure the service operates in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Law, and National Regulations
- Build community: Create a warm and welcoming environment for children and families, and act as a trusted point of contact within the service
- Step up in leadership: Act as Responsible Person in the absence of the Head of OSHC, exercising sound judgement across day to day operation
About You
You’re an experienced educator with a genuine passion for school age care and a natural ability to support and inspire a team.
You may come from an OSHC background already in a mentoring or lead educator capacity, or you may be an early childhood skilled ready to step into a more senior role.
You’ll bring:
- A Diploma of School Age Education and Care or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in an OSHC or school age care setting, including experience in an educational leadership or mentoring capacity
- Working knowledge of the NQF, Education and Care Services National Regulations, and the EYLF or MTOP framework
- Confidence using rostering and booking systems, with experience in Deputy and Xplor highly regarded
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build genuine relationships with children, families, and staff
- A current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification, or willingness to obtain
- A current Blue Card or Positive Notice, or willingness to obtain one
