Skills/Experience

As a skilled MC Water Cart Operator, you will be responsible for the protected and efficient operation of a multi combination (MC) water cart to maintain dust suppression on gravel roads and construction haul routes. The role ensures that road surfaces are adequately dampened to minimize dust hazards, maintain visibility, and promote a safe working environment for all personnel and equipment on site.

- Operate water cart in compliance with site procedures, road rules, and safety standards
- Apply water evenly and effectively to gravel roads and work areas for dust suppression under supervisor direction
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections, routine maintenance checks, and report any defects or issues
- Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, and fluid levels
- Monitor road and weather conditions to adjust water application as required
- Maintain accurate records of water usage, operating hours, and daily tasks in logbooks or electronic systems




- Assist in safe refilling operations, ensuring pumps, hoses, and fittings are used correctly
- Comply with site safety policies, traffic management plans, and environmental controls
- Work collaboratively with other operators, supervisors, and site teams to maintain operational efficiency
- Uphold environmental responsibilities by avoiding overwatering, preventing water run-off, and minimizing waste
- Work safely and collaboratively within a high-performing team

About You:

- Minimum 1 year experience operating water carts in construction, mining, or civil works
- Knowledge of dust suppression techniques and road maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions with attention to detail
- Strong safety focus and teamwork skills
- Excellent work ethic and attention to detail

Required:

- MC Driver's Licence (mandatory)
- Commercial drivers medical (or willing to obtain)
- TLIF0005 Apply a fatigue risk management(or willing to obtain)
- White Card (Construction Induction)
