Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a team of Medical Management Specialists to achieve performance and quality outcomes
Oversee the assessment and approval of medical and like services and surgical requests, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe legislation and industry guidelines
Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback and identify development opportunities
Act as the key escalation point for complex medical management matters
Partner with Medical Advisors, Treating Health Practitioners and Claims Leaders to support appropriate treatment and recovery pathways
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies and a positive team culture
Ensure service standards, quality, compliance and customer expectations are consistently achieved
About You
Demonstrated leadership experience within Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury or Insurance
Strong understanding of medical management, return-to-work and WorkSafe legislation
Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
A collaborative leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement and customer outcomes
Allied health qualifications are highly regarded but not essential
