We're looking for a World Editor to lead the planning, production and curation of our international editorial content for state, national, niche and global audiences.
About the role
This is a permanent, full-time position operating across a seven-day roster, with a range of shift start times and regular weekend work. You'll manage international content and plan coverage of major events, working under tight deadlines and using multimedia to bring stories to life.

The role
AAP is looking for a World Editor to manage the planning, production and curation of international editorial content for a broad customer base. The newswire covers a range of issues for state, national, niche and global audiences. This is a permanent,
full-time role that includes a range of shift starting times and regular weekend work to accommodate as part of a seven-day roster. Applicants should have comprehensive production and editing experience in a daily news environment and be capable of operating under tight deadlines, applying multimedia to help convey information in articles. It's often an image that drives a story. The role will suit an energetic leader who can manage content and plan coverage of major events. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is excellent organisation, professional presentation and good time management.
The candidate
The ideal candidate will have outstanding news judgement and knowledge across general news, sports, finance, and global affairs, plus a flare for 'the quirky' and what piques human interest. They will have a positive and engaging approach to leadership, high-level editing skills and a solid understanding of media law. They will collaborate with other business units and liaise directly with external stakeholders as necessary. The person will be a team player with the ability to work flexibly and independently when required. Candidates will be expected to maintain the highest standards of accuracy, impartiality and fairness and commit to AAP's Code of Practice.
