Commercial Finance Business Partner - Sushi Sushi

Sushi Sushi, Australia's largest sushi brand, is going through an exciting period of growth and we are looking for aCommercial Finance Business Partnerto joinour Support office team!

Who are we looking for?

Reporting to the CFO, we are looking for a commercially minded, finance savvy professional who will be a conduit between finance and operational insights- holding strong analytical capability, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence decisions through data and insight while translating these insights to the broader business network.

This position will be available from August 2026.

Key responsibilities:

- Partnering with key stakeholders across departments to interpret financial data and guide strategic decisions
- Performing deep-dive financial analysis to identify performance drivers, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare business cases, investment appraisals and commercial analysis to support initiatives new and existing, growth opportunities and key projects.
- Preparing and review weekly,monthly management reports and variance analyses
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, aligning financial plans with business objectives
- Monitor essential financial metrics and develop reporting tools to enhance visibility of these key areas
- Analysis of revenue streams, profitability, PNLs and costing structures across products, services, and business units
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and contributing to long-term financial planning
- Ensuring financial practices comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and relevant accounting standards




- Assisting with scenario modelling and investment appraisal to evaluate business cases
- Ensuring financial insights are communicated clearly and influence operational and strategic initiatives

Experience:

A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is essential, along with demonstrated commercial finance or business partnering experience. Qualifications such as CPA, CA, or CIMA are highly regarded.

Technical accounting knowledge and expertise in a professional firm or equivalent

Proactiveness and sense of urgency to ensure all deadlines are met

Adaptability and demonstrated problem solving skills

Confidence and ability to work with various stakeholders within and outside of finance

Board reporting and preparation of papers advantageous

Key skills and attributes for success in this role include:

- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or Tableau)
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into commercial recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture
- Strong commercial acumen and industry knowledge
- Understanding of financial compliance and internal controls
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and business impact
