About the Role
The Waiting List Officer is accountable for the management of patients on the Planned Surgery Waiting List from a clerical perspective within the guidelines of the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy. They provide productive administrative support within the team and work closely with the Surgical Liaison Nurses to ensure patients are safely prepared for their elective procedure.

Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms and other areas of St Vincent's within stipulated time frame as per DHHS Planned Surgery Access Policy

Accurately create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on Patient Administration System (PAS) as required

Contact patients and schedule admission for procedures

Schedule any appointments, that may include preadmission clinic, anaesthetic clinic, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinic and any associated investigations as requested by the SLN or unit

Classifications for this position will be HS1 - HS17 ($58,442 - $64,610 per annum pro rata) and attracts a $4.447/hr over award.

Your Contribution

Relevant experience in administration in a healthcare role

Experience with patient administration systems

Working knowledge of Microsoft office including Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, Word and Excel

Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About The Planned Surgery Management Team The Planned Surgery Management Team (PSMT) coordinates the care of those patients that are on the St Vincent’s Hospital elective surgery and endoscopy waiting list in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Planned Surgery Access Policy.



They are responsible for the case management and coordination of care for patients from when they go on the surgical waitlist until they are scheduled and have their procedure.
