Ruyton Girls’ School seeks to appoint an accomplished and values‑led leader as Executive Director People and Culture. A key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director is responsible for shaping and delivering the School’s people strategy, fostering a high‑performing culture and ensuring workforce capability, leadership and organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Ruyton’s strategic priorities. Working closely with the Principal and senior leaders, the role provides both strategic direction and practical leadership across the full employee lifecycle, strengthening Ruyton’s position as an employer of choice and supporting an exceptional employee experience.

Reporting directly to the Principal, the Executive Director leads the People and Culture function and contributes broadly to whole‑of‑school leadership and decision‑making. The role comes at an key point in the School’s evolution, with a strong people foundation already established and a clear opportunity to drive further refinement, modernisation and strategic lift. Key priorities include strengthening workforce planning and recruitment, enhancing learning and development opportunities for professional staff, embedding recently completed values and wellbeing initiatives, and leading the implementation of a new HRIS as part of the School’s transition to Scholarion. The role will also provide leadership across organisational development, employee relations, enterprise bargaining, governance and compliance, ensuring people practices remain contemporary,



effective and aligned with the School’s future needs.

The successful candidate will be an experienced People and Culture executive with a proven track record leading strategic people initiatives within complex, values‑driven organisations. They will bring expertise across workforce planning, organisational development, employee relations, culture and change, together with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution. Warm, credible and relationship‑oriented, the appointee will be a trusted advisor to leaders across the School, capable of influencing constructively, building confidence quickly and leading with both empathy and sound judgement. Experience within an independent school environment will be highly regarded, although candidates from universities, healthcare and other purpose‑led sectors are encouraged to apply.
