We’re looking for a reliable, motivated and hands on Assistant Farm Manager to join our team at "Trawalla" near Beaufort, Victoria.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and work alongside an experienced Farm Manager within a large-scale farming business.
The role is ideally suited to someone with livestock [sheep & beef cattle] knowledge and experience who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive & practical team.
About the Role
This role reports to the Farm Manager and plays a key role in supporting the day to day management and operation of the Trawalla farming operation.
This is a diverse position involving livestock, cropping, machinery operation, pasture management, farm maintenance and leadership support.
You will also lead by example on fostering a safe, collaborative and productive workplace where teamwork, accountability and professionalism are strongly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Livestock handling and animal health/welfare
- Support with operational planning
- Accurate livestock and farm data recording [Agriwebb etc]
- Machinery operation and basic maintenance
- Fence, yard, and water system repairs
- General farm maintenance and upkeep
- Promote and adhere to a safe & respectful working environment
About You
- Has strong practical experience working with sheep and beef cattle
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and leads by example
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Is organised, practical, safety conscious and reliable
- Has strong communication and observation skills
- Enjoys supporting others and contributing to a positive team environment
- Has sound computer skills and willingness to use farm management software with focus on continuous improvement
- Is comfortable operating farm machinery with good mechanical aptitude
- Enjoys hands on work and the variety that comes with mixed farming
