Pathways Monaro team provides community-based support for people impacted by alcohol and other drug use, helping clients strengthen practical life skills, build resilience and move toward healthier futures.

We’re now looking for a compassionate and motivated AOD Support Worker to join our team and support clients on their recovery journey.

About the Role

As an AOD Support Worker, you’ll work closely with our AOD Case Managers to provide practical, person-centred support that empowers clients to achieve their goals and build confidence in everyday life.

This is a hands‑on and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll support clients through connection, encouragement and practical assistance, while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

This is a temporary part‑time opportunity within our Pathways Monaro team,



available for an immediate start to support a period of maternity leave coverage through to June 2027.

You will:

Provide practical, client‑centred support to Pathways Monaro clients in a collaborative and integrated way

Support clients to build independence, develop life skills and strengthen community connections

Provide clear and accurate information about Directions programs and available supports

Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care

Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and ethical practice at all times

Complete timely documentation, including case notes and data entry

Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives

Liaise with government and non‑government organisations to enhance supports and opportunities for clients

What We’re Looking For

Highly desirable:

Demonstrated ability to facilitate therapeutic group programs.

Confidence and willingness to work within a correctional (prison) setting.

You’ll bring:

Certificate IV in AOD and/or experience in Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs work,



or willingness to work towards a qualification

Understanding of harm minimisation and trauma‑informed practice

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a hands‑on, practical approach

Compassionate understanding of the challenges clients may experience

Ability to work independently and effectively within a small, flexible team

Confidence using Microsoft Office and Client Information Management Systems (CIMS)

Strong understanding of professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, and organisational policies and procedures

Australian Citizenship or suitable rights to work in Australia

Current Driver’s Licence
