About the Role
Exciting opportunity for a contemporary, experienced registered nurse to join the clinical education team as a Clinical Support Nurse. The Clinical Support Nurse facilitates high-quality clinical experiences for undergraduate nursing students, enrolled nurse trainees, and graduate nurses. The role is pivotal in supporting best practice clinical care through development and delivery of education to assist in maintaining and expanding clinical knowledge and skills in line with contemporary evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities
- Provides expert clinical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to nursing teams, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care.
- The role is responsible for promoting best practice standards, enhancing clinical capability through education and coaching, and supporting staff to maintain professional competency and confidence in their practice.
- Key responsibilities include providing clinical advice, supporting care planning and complex clinical decision-making, contributing to audits and quality improvement initiatives, reviewing clinical practices, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Plays an important role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence in nursing care.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with (with current AHPRA registration)
- Knowledge of adult education principles
- Sound clinical skills and passion for clinical education
- Strong organisational skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication skills including computer skills
- Current flu vaccination evidence
- Current and valid Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children Check
- Must provide evidence of immunisation history and/or serology results.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience with the ability to provide expert guidance, support, and mentorship to nursing teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to educate, coach, and support staff in developing clinical skills and maintaining professional standards.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management principles.
- Ability to assess complex clinical situations, provide sound clinical advice, and support effective care planning and decision-making.
- Experience with clinical audits, documentation review, incident management, and implementing improvement strategies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Pay range and compensation package
This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028. (RN28 Clinical Support Nurse)
