About the role

Optiver is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Information Security Engineer to bolster the security framework of our global operations. This position entails the continuous monitoring, safeguarding, and enhancement of our cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in managing risks, responding to incidents, and advocating for security best practices across the organization.

What you'll do

- Manage daily security operations, identifying threats, investigating alerts, and responding to incidents across both cloud and on-premises settings.
- Strengthen security measures for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID by implementing strategies such as Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and hardening configurations.
- Create and oversee security automation solutions utilizing Python and PowerShell to optimize processes and improve detection and response capabilities.
- Enhance security workflows by integrating systems through APIs.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and system configuration reviews, devising effective strategies for mitigation.
- Engage in incident response activities, which include investigation, containment, and remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with engineering, technology, and business teams to promote and implement security best practices throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends to ensure proactive measures are in place.
- Document security processes and incidents to maintain clear records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Provide training and support to team members and other departments on security protocols and best practices.




- Participate in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work closely with external vendors and partners to ensure the security of third-party integrations.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of experience in information security or a related technical engineering role.
- Strong analytical skills to effectively address technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems, along with familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Solid scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and process improvement.
- Understanding of secure identity management, authentication techniques, and modern access control methods.
- Experience with various security tools, including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB).
- Knowledge of securing workloads in both on-premises and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments.
- Familiarity with identity lifecycle management, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and privileged identity controls.
- Understanding of vulnerability management tools and secure configuration standards.




- Experience with data protection solutions and information security tools such as Microsoft Purview and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules.

Nice to have

- Certifications in information security, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
- Experience in the financial services sector or with trading systems.
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and best practices.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
- Experience with threat hunting and incident response methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of security tools and technologies, including but not limited to:

- Microsoft 365 Security

- Python and PowerShell scripting
