What you'll do

- Define the technical roadmap for frontend systems within the Photo group and its partners.
- Direct large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that align technical quality with product goals.
- Improve engineering standards through performance optimization, architecture design, and mentorship.
- Evaluate technical risks and opportunities to inform the future of the product.
- Work with machine learning engineers, product managers, and designers to build user-facing features.
- Participate in company-wide architecture forums to shape the broader frontend platform.
- Write code for high-impact projects while supporting the growth of other engineers.

Requirements

- Extensive commercial experience scaling complex frontend applications with JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
- History of leading technical projects across multiple teams from initial concept to completion.
- Deep knowledge of frontend architecture,



state management, rendering performance, or platform engineering.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring senior-level engineers and improving team-wide standards.
- Capacity to navigate ambiguity and translate high-level strategy into actionable technical plans.

Nice to have

- Proficiency in WebGL, WebGPU, WebAssembly, or Canvas rendering.
- Background in developing creative tools, image editing software, or media platforms.
- Experience incorporating machine learning or AI features into products.
- Contributions to shared engineering infrastructure, design systems, or frontend platforms.
