About The Role

As an Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in our Community Engagement team, working towards our goal of an informed and engaged community. You will collaborate with the broader Community Engagement team to facilitate meaningful community engagement opportunities, ensuring that Council decisions reflect consideration of the voices of our community. You’ll also work closely with project teams, communications colleagues and community-facing staff to support practical, inclusive and well-coordinated engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and execute effective community engagement plans across various channels
- Provide advice and support on community engagement across Council
- Contribute to the development of best practise engagement approaches
- Support the management of risks associated with engagement activities

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess a background in community and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on developing and implementing engagement plans. We’re looking for someone with demonstrated experience coordinating and supporting engagement activities, sound judgement,



and the ability to build trusted relationships across internal teams and the community.

You should be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Engagement, or a related discipline.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
- Proven experience in community engagement roles, including the application of engagement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage competing priorities and deliver results within tight timeframes.
- Commitment to collaboration and continuous learning within a team environment.

- Package: $85,907 - $91,059 (full-time equivalent) gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Temporary Part Time. 28 hours per week with minimum of 4 days per week required. Opportunity expected to be available for up to 6 months.
- Interview date: Interviews will be facilitated within 2 weeks of the closing date
