HR Specialist - 8 Months fixed term contract

Coolibah Herbs is a proudly Australian, family-owned business supplying washed salad greens, mixed leaves and fresh herbs to leading food service, retail and wholesale customers across Australia and overseas.

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the HR Manager you will help facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the HR Department. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and liaise with managers and team members across all levels of the organisation.

This is a full time fixed-term parental leave position, working Monday to Friday. Standard working hours are generally 8:30am to 5:00pm, however some flexibility may be available for the right candidate.

Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new employees.

Training & Development

Coordinate internal and external training programs to support employee development and compliance requirements.

Maintain training records and monitor expiring licences, qualifications, and certifications.

WorkCover & Compliance

Coordinate the end-to-end WorkCover process, ensuring compliance and supporting employees throughout their claim and return to work journey.





Conduct visa checks and maintain compliance with immigration and employment legislation.

HR Administration & Employee Support

Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR systems.

Implement and maintain records management practices to support audit and compliance requirements.

Assist the HR Manager with a range of generalist HR activities, including employee relations, performance management.

Provide guidance and support in relation to employee queries, grievances, and workplace matters.

Health & Safety

Promote and support a safe workplace by adhering to and encouraging Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

General

Provide administrative and operational support to the HR team as required.

Undertake other duties relevant to the position.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred).

Minimum 5 years' experience in a generalist Human Resources role.

Experience managing recruitment, training coordination, and WorkCover processes.

Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

A flexible, resilient, and solutions focused approach.
