Join Our Disability Support Worker Team in the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Environment

Independent Living Victoria (ILV) is seeking compassionate and professional Disability Support Workers to join a brand-new Supported Independent Living (SIL) service in Melbourne.

This is a unique disability support role that combines traditional support work with a concierge-style approach to service delivery. We are looking for individuals who take pride in creating welcoming environments, building genuine relationships with residents, and providing high-quality day-to-day support that promotes independence and safety.

Our Concierge Disability Support Workers will be the heart of the service, assisting tenants and helping create a positive living environment where people can thrive.

As a Concierge Team Member, you will:

- Support residents with day-to-day living activities as required.

- Build positive and professional relationships with residents.

- Support residents to achieve their goals and maintain independence.

- Complete documentation and incident reporting accurately.

- Work collaboratively with residents, families, allied health professionals, and the wider ILV team.

- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant environment.

- Promote tenant choice, dignity, and person-centred support at all times.

What We Are Looking For

We're seeking individuals who demonstrate:

and a positive attitude.

- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.

- Previous experience in disability, aged care, hospitality, customer service, community services, or healthcare environments.

- Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Current First Aid Certificate.

- Current CPR Certificate.

- Current Police Check.

- Full Australian Working Rights.

- Valid Australian Driver License.

- Certifications in Manual Handling & Infection Control.

- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.

- Ability to provide two skilled referees.

- Qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support, Community Services, Aged Care, Nursing, Mental Health, Hospitality, or a related field will be highly regarded.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within Supported Independent Living (SIL).

- Experience supporting participants with complex support needs.

- Experience with behaviors of concern or positive behavior support.

- Experience administering medication.

- Experience triaging client calls and time management





- Experience assisting in emergency evacuation scenarios

Recruitment & Onboarding Timeline

To ensure a thorough and structured recruitment process, the following timeline will apply:

Stage 1 – Application Screening

Commencing 27 July 2026

Applications will be reviewed against the role requirements, relevant experience, and suitability for the concierge-based SIL environment.

Stage 2 – Face-to-Face Interviews

3 August 2026 – 14 August 2026

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an in-person interview and role suitability assessment.

Stage 3 – Compliance & Documentation

17 August 2026 – 28 August 2026

Successful candidates will complete:

- Reference checks

- Compliance verification

- Employment documentation

- NDIS onboarding requirements

Commencement Date

30 August 2026

- Successfully appointed Concierge Team Members will commence onboarding, ILV induction and training
